Copenhagen
Charlottenlund Beach Park
Another Walk to Remember
The park was adjacent to Denmark's Aquarium. After a couple of hours in the aquarium which was adequately sufficient, we headed for a walk on the park. The day was little dull but the beach and the lawns still impressed us.
The park was huge overlooking the silent sea dotted with leisure boats, yachts and kayaks. The park seemed to be a favorite for dog owners as they were abundant in the park. We saw many different varieties of dogs—some exotic too. As with everywhere else in Copenhagen, magpies and seagulls ruled the place. The interesting scene was a seagull and dogs playing together!

The waters were super clear. If not for the chilling temperature, we would have been delighted to take a dip. The canal, fort and the cannons reminded us of the pleasant walk we had in Kastellet.
The Charlottenlund fort was built between 1886 and 1887 as a fortress for the defense of Copenhagen harbor till 1936. Today, it is an open area with a camping site, kiosks, boat rentals and restaurants.
The restaurant on top of the fort had an impressive view—better still, it had an impressive menu. There were small kiosks selling ice creams and gelato, but most of them were closed. There are camping options available in the fort. For more details, please check the camping website.
